Shangahi Expo 2010
The expo pavilion is a complex problem of displaying the future of technology, culture, and life with today's capabilities. To take a look forward and to examine not only what is on display but the aperture that holds that promise of a better city, better life.
Mixed-Use Cultural & Commercial Tower
Melding the cultural and commercial worlds within a 75-story expansion tower that produces a unique problem and opportunity for the exploration of program and aesthetics. The MoMA Expansion is a mixed-use tower that has a dispersion of programs and a variety of expressions which blur and intermingle across the tower.
Eco-Tourist Pavilion
An information center about the ecology of the Galapagos that not only gives a look into nature and its ecology but takes on a playful role of natural transformation. Based on the tides, Temporary Permance works with the timing and displacement of people and programs through out the day and seasons.
Public Plaza
Whether we are driving, taking the bus, bicycling, or riding the subway, each of our trips begins and ends with a walk; the plaza is the intermediate comfort zone between our journeys. Rethinking The Plaza seamlessly pulls itself up out of the ground to create more intimate and private spaces within.
Green Factory
Building as a mediator is not just a simple line drawn between man and nature. It is a call-and-response condition played at both ends. The machine driven by man reacts to nature's environment to capture energy; but while doing so the machine changes the very environment it seeks to respond to, creating a new set of parameters.
Solar / Server Farm
Using the grotesque as a formal expression, Sinister looks at the way aesthetics, forms, and organization strategies can produce effects to challenge the normative way of thinking and questions the role of environmental technologies will play in the future.
